Family Detailed Responsive Inclusive Plan

During my observation, my mentor emphasized the importance of a healthy diet and encouraged children to bring nutritious meals to school. To support this initiative, I created a poster illustrating a balanced plate, highlighting protein, carbohydrates, vegetables, and fruits, and shared it with families to promote healthy lunch choices. Additionally, I designed a poster featuring the five food groups to help families understand what to include in their child’s lunchbox. As an extension, I engaged the children in a learning session about healthy eating and reinforced their understanding through a fun and interactive quiz based on the concepts taught. This activity not only enhanced children's awareness of nutrition but also enhanced children's awareness of nutrition and encouraged family involvement in fostering healthy eating habits.

Children Detailed Responsive Inclusive Plan

Through my observations, I noticed the children's interest in learning ten frames and their enthusiasm for sensory play. To support their engagement and integrate meaningful learning experiences, I introduced a hands-on activity—making playdough. This provided an opportunity for sensory exploration while reinforcing early math concepts. To ensure accessibility and understanding, I created a visual ingredient list, using pictures and measuring cups to demonstrate quantities concretely. As an extension of their learning, I incorporated ten frames into the activity, encouraging the children to create the corresponding number of shapes using the playdough they had made. This approach fostered sensory integration and reinforced their mathematical understanding in a playful and engaging manner.

I love that you extended the children's learning by creating two activities that meet their needs but also interest them. Letting the children see how playdough is made was a wonderful idea, and happy to hear that the librarian wanted you to bring it forth to her other class.

Keep it up!"
